This album was recorded in five days, using 1970s rock for inspiration and following the story of a young imaginary couple on the skids in the early '70s. But it's still an Aimee Mann record through and through, with bittersweet lyrics and Mann's gorgeous voice, which feels like a cool hand on a hot forehead.
