Alicia Villarreal

Grupo Limite vocalist Alicia Villareal stepped out on her own in 2001 with this impassioned traditional album. She's appealing to an older crowd here, singing covers of older hits and performing a duet with the great Pedro Fernandez. Her voice is slender but ravishing -- a perfect instrument to carry these gentle songs -- and the accompaniment is, thankfully, all acoustic.
