After his breakout American Song (picked as one of Rhapsody's best album's of 2004), Andy Bey returns with this live platter that showcases his richly beautiful voice and his way of melding the meaning of a lyric with seemingly effortless harmonic improvisations. While Andy Bey's voice recalls such balladeering jazz baritones as Johnny Hartman, Arthur Prysock and Billie Eckstine, his soul, spirit and approach is uniquely his own. This was recorded when Bey restarted his solo career in 1997.
