Angels & Airwaves

Imagine Blink-182's tattooed quirkiness clashing with Peter Gabriel's atmospheric art rock. It could end up one big mess of piercings and sledgehammers, but Angels and Airwaves are smart with their artistic experiments. They don't stray too far from radio-friendly rhythms, but they add a melodic (maybe even angelic) touch to their overall alt prog rock sound. Blink's Tom DeLonge adds his punky vocals to the mix, but right from the opening track's spacey soundscape, it's clear this is no punk-pop pursuit.
