Biography

Catapulted into fame after his participation in Buena Vista Social Club, Torres is Cuba's reigning master of the laud, a twelve-string lute. Torres uses traditional guajiro (country) rhythms in combination with guitars, bass, timbales, percussion, trumpet and lush female harmony vocals to render an eminently listenable folk music that defies you not to dance.
