Biography

If you fear an I-chew-gravel-for-lunch vocalist shouting lyrics with the look and smell of real scum, then stay away. If two basses pounding out mammoth riffs and guitar-harmonic mayhem shocks or scares you, please avoid Cop Shoot Cop. But if you can handle some of the most bracing, furious and cathartic art-punk/noise-skronk this side of the Birthday Party, then you will undoubtedly cherish this sadly defunct band of snotbags. CSC had an impressive songwriter in high-end bassist and vocalist Tod A., now of Klezmer supergroup Firewater. He created some of the most distinctive and confrontational music of the late '80s/early '90s, rounded out by low- end bassist and vocalist Natz, a madman on the drums and Metal parts, and one or two cacophony lovers on samplers. CSC created crushing tribal numbers ("$10 Bill"), Satan-at-the-cabaret Post-Punk ("Days Will Pass") and incendiary Industrial tracks ("We Shall Be Changed"). Guaranteed to please drug-addled, Lower East Side artist types and uber-cool jazzbo characters alike.
