Biography
Trumpet player Fats Navarro was already a Bop giant by the time he died at the early age of twenty-six in 1950. More straight-ahead than Dizzy Gillespie, Navarro made a series of stunning sides with pianist Bud Powell. He was revered by Clifford Brown, who also met with a tragically early end.
