Like Shelby Lynne or Tift Merritt, Kim Richey's brand of contemporary country is a little more hip than most Nashville hat acts. A friend and musical partner of Ryan Adams, Richey writes songs that reflect the same kind of Americana moxie, but with somewhat more refined and studied overtones.
