Creating music as far opposed to his former band Napalm Death as possible, Mick Harris' Lull is severe in its resistance to aggression and volume. Instead, cool, aqueous sounds float free of the structures of rhythm and tonality. Only the subtlest shifts take place as tense drones slowly uncoil and release vibrant dissonance and bitter tones. Not for the claustrophobic, Lull is the ambiance of a dark, narrow cave that turns in on itself like a labyrinth.
