Robbie Fulks

After making a series of critically acclaimed records for Chicago's Alt Country label Bloodshot, Fulks got swept up in the Roots rock scare of the late 1990s and signed with Geffen Records. He is a songwriter of surprising depth and range, capable of insanely melodic Jangle Pop, hardcore Honky-Tonk, Western Swing and just about any other style of Roots-informed American music. He is also a terrific singer and a fine guitarist. Fulks' relationship with the majors hasn't lasted long, but he is a prolific writer and he has maintained a tour schedule that's helped him build a solid core of fans who'll most likely sustain what should prove to be a long and interesting career.
