A darker effort than their previous albums, the Victory Records alumni's fifth release is packed top to bottom with all the guttural screechings and serious melodies that helped launch their hostile takeover of the airwaves in the mid '00s. What you may not expect, though, are the string charts in "Bleeding Is a Luxury," the presence of synthesizers beneath the sludge-y swing of "Black Days Begin" and the dive-bomber feedback of the title cut -- none of which sound out of place.
