Black Tambourine

The only upside to Black Tambourine's short career is that the entirety of the band's output from a string of singles fits on this single-volume reissue. While the word "seminal" is bandied about too often, the band deserves to be considered such. Their blurry blend of shoegazing Brit rock and '60s pop was visionary, paving the way for the best indie acts of the following decade. One listen to tunes like "Black Car" or "Throw Aggie from the Bridge" and their influence is indisputable. Like any truly innovative music, these singles sound just as fresh today as the day they were issued.
