Blitzen Trapper

This EP contains "Black River Killer," a track off Blitzen Trapper's 2008 full-length Furr, plus six cuts previously available only on a CD-R the group hawked at shows. Much like Furr, this cool little release finds the band filtering power pop, glam and Americana through a kind of neo-Beck post-modernism. Though several songs feel more like rough sketches than finished products, there's no denying a tune like "Big Black Bird," which is a wonderful chunk of Crazy Horse-inspired country rock.
