Brian Eno

Anyone who thinks that Ambient music is something cold should listen to this record from 1983. Eno created a series of space-related pieces and then asked Daniel Lanois to add some sweet, understated pedal steel work. With stunning results in "An Ending (Ascent)" and "Deep Blue Day," it's no wonder this music was used to accompany visuals of the moon landing.
