Brooke Hogan

It's hard to take Brooke Hogan seriously. It's not the schizophrenic range of styles (from Latin to reggae to girl group) she bounces between; her voice is never exactly awe-inspiring, but she sounds comfortable on this candy-coated (if cookie-cutter) collection. It's not even the undue amount of fronting, although her attempt to wax hyphy "with [her] stunna shades on" for "About Us" is more O.C. than Oakland. What makes Hogan's debut hard to swallow is that almost every track depicts a romantic tryst, which, judging by their VH1 reality show, her quasi-Cro-Magnon dad would never allow.
