These early sessions were recorded in Nashville in the mid-'50s, just a few years before Holly would nail down the style that would carry his legacy far beyond the short span of his lifetime. The tracks mix up pop ballads with strong, low-key rockabilly rave-ups. Not essential, but certainly a vibrant insight into the early days of rock 'n' roll.
