Chuck Prophet

It's amazing that this man can walk around his native San Francisco without getting mobbed by music lovers. This album pushes Americana boundaries further than Tom Waits or any of those guys at No Depression could ever imagine. At times Prophet sounds like the Sir Douglas Quintet jamming from inside a space station.
