Forget Jeff Lynne. Will Cullen Hart is the Roy Wood of indie rock. The dude is incapable of releasing a record that's not an epic foray into twisted psych-pop and flat-out sonic weirdness. It's probably the reason why it took Hart, a founding member of the Elephant 6 collective, eight years to produce a follow-up to Circulatory System's debut. No doubt it will take most listeners two or three years to fully decode Signal Morning. It's a dense, challenging and phantasmagoric listen.
