Deuter

The early 1980s was when New Age broke its ties to psychedelia, modern classical, jazz and folk. With its crisp lines and crystalline production, Cicada is clearly music for healing and enlightenment, not mere enjoyment. In fact, Deuter was very specific about his intent. Born in Germany, the holistic healer spent considerable time in an Indian ashram, where he perfected a meditation regimen based on experiments he conducted with synthesizers, world music motifs and a multitrack recorder.
