Dusty Rhodes and the River Band

If Polyphonic Spree were into the Stones instead of the Carpenters, they might sound like Dusty Rhodes and the River Band. Unselfconsciously plumbing the depths of classic-rock Americana with a sunny exuberance, Dusty and company come on like the kind of band that used to be indie rock but one day found all these old records in a basement somewhere and now just want to cover The Band's "When You Awake" all the time. Excellent. On top of all that, there is true weirdness here, crammed into the corners ("First You Live," "Dear Honey").
