On this short 2005 work, Matthews picks up where he left off almost a decade earlier, crafting ethereal baroque rock. Only Matthews could write the painfully autobiographic "Cardinal is More" and have the mid-tempo rocker float around in space, only occasionally sticking the listener with sharp, psychic jabs. That meeting of soft and sharp remains Matthews M.O.
