Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt's rich songs would seem perfectly suited to the sweeping, 1960s-style string presentation they receive here, but many of these tunes actually came out better on later, acoustic settings. Still, "Cross My Heart," "Come Home," and the lacerating "Little Hitlers" rank alongside their best work.
