About

Hooray for another tough-as-nails singer and band leader who smacks a blow to stereotypes along with rock heroines, PJ Harvey and Kim Deal. After kicking around LA as the keyboardist in Shrinkwrap, Annie Hardy decided she wanted to be more autonomous and decided to start her own outfit. An elegant combination of the abrasive and the smooth, Annie puts her sophisticated ladylike vocal touch on the My Bloody Valentine/Jesus and Mary Chain-influenced guitar swirl on songs like "My Dick Sux," and "Kevin Is Gay." While the band sticks to being a duo, with Micah Calabrese joining in on drums, Giant Drag still produces a fierce and mighty roar.
