High On Fire

The 2001 debut from former Sleep guitarist Matt Pike's new band is a skull-crushing continuation of what Sleep unleashed on the world in the early '90s -- namely, some of the heaviest music produced by humanity since 1972, when Sabbath put out Vol. 4. The first two tracks here are indescribably, enormously awesome.
