Los Angeles' Janiva Magness is sassy, sexy and, most of all, mouthy. But what really distinguishes her style from that of her fellow blues divas is taste. In addition to putting together a killer band (Michael "Junior" Watson is a beast on the guitar), Magness knows how to craft recordings that sound vintage but not overly retro.
