Jefferson Airplane

Released two years after their remarkable 1969 album Volunteers, this record marked a steady downturn for Jefferson Airplane. With most of the original members were gone, the band lost their focus. It shows in eleven songs that are little more than standard arena rock fare. The standout track "Pretty As You Feel" saves the album.

This isn't as bad as the faithless claim (a lot better than Bite, for instance), but it's definitely a collection of weirdnesses rather than an album: duh boys in duh band sing a cappella, Grace sings German, Grace defies cop, Hot Tuna outtake, fiddle feature, and so forth. And so on. (Grade - C+)
