Among the 10 zillion re-packagings of the Killer’s hits, this fairly non-descript looking collection is an oddity. Lewis re-recorded “Great Balls of Fire” and “Breathless” alongside covers of “When a Man Loves a Woman” and “Chantilly Lace” for this album, produced during his country comeback. He sings with a vigor that makes up for any misgivings one might have about the obvious attempt at cashing in on his former glories. And really, who knows why Jerry needed the money. It was probably pretty serious, though. “Chantilly Lace” is one of the most lascivious performances of his career.
