Rhapsody

It may seem pointless for Hodges to record a solo disc with the Duke's orchestra and right-hand man Billy Strayhorn, but the operative word here is "seem." Not only does this spotlight Hodges' peerless, dramatic sax solos and Strayhorn's sophisticated charts, but also "non-Ellingtonians" Howard McGee and Jimmy Jones are on board and "Stardust" shows up as a bonus cut.
