Stained Class established Priest as the premier heavy metal band of the late '70s -- upping tempos, cutting fat and pushing metal into more musical territory than it had ever been before. The record stands as one of, if not the high point of the NWOBHM movement and its furious beats and propulsive sounds proved to foreshadow the birth of Speed and Trash Metal.
