Julie London has long deserved a 2-disc career retrospect like this. London, like Chet Baker, didn't have a strong voice, but she definitely knew how employ her whiskey 'n' cigarette phrasing. The songs aren't in chronological order, so just sit back and enjoy the superior small group jazz tracks and the uneven -- but still essential -- orchestral and big band cuts.
