This single is the first release on Franklin's Fo Yo Soul Entertainment label and the first track from his solo album Hero. Mixing urban gospel vocals, prayerful lyrics, a disco beat (complete with whistles) and a smooth R&B flow, "Looking" is an upbeat everyman's party or, as Franklin sings, true "pain medicine."
