Mark Kozelek

This album is ahead of its time. Kozelek deconstructed a handful of Bon Scott-penned AC/DC songs, leaving only the lyrics in tact. He then wrote new chords, arrangements and melodies. The result shows (perhaps unknowingly) that despite all the boneheaded power chords and on-stage antics, Scott was a melancholy poet of great depth and talent. Kozelek's singing is exquisite.
