Meat Puppets

This is Meat Puppets' second record since the miraculous return of bassist Cris Kirkwood, who, during a decade-long disappearance, survived a serious drug habit, lost his wife to an OD, got shot and spent two years behind bars for assault. Aside from the obvious pleasure of hearing the brothers Kirkwood play together again, opener "Sewn Together" is almost as good as anything off of Meat Puppets II, with their trademark trippy bump at the chorus and Curt's understatedly awesome guitar playing.
