The underground music scene of late has been overflowing with a plethora of young and hip bands trying to emulate four pockets of the '70s: power pop, bubblegum, glam rock and longhaired punk. When present day mainstream music starts to sound bland, there's nothing wrong with affecting the past. It's fun and even kind of endearing. But let's face it...nothing will ever sound as good and honest as the original music of the old guard.
