California-based indie label Revelation Records has been home to some of the most influential hardcore and post-hardcore bands since they released the first Warzone 7-inch in 1987. Whether it be New York City's Youth Crew hardcore bands preaching strong messages and adding a heavier, more metallic sound, or primitive emo bands combining the basic hardcore structure with melodic guitars, clean singing and emotional lyrics, Rev releases established an important niche in underground music.
