Besides early Black Sabbath and Pentagram records, Saint Vitus' Born Too Late helped pioneer the doom metal genre, and the Melvins and early Nirvana owe much to these humongous distorted riffs and gloomy melodies. Singer Scott Weinrich was dismissed by critics as a wannabe Ozzy when this album surfaced in 1986, but we're not saying that like it's a bad thing.
