McLachlan was relatively unknown when this came out in 1992. The ethereal singer may have been coming into her own in terms of her vocal style, but her songwriting chops are no less impressive here than on later records. From the opening cut through to the joyous "Wear My Love Like Heaven," she finds an interesting spot between Alanis Morissette and the Cocteau Twins.
