Better than many Jam comps, this one balances big hits like "Going Underground," "That's Entertainment," and "A Town Called Malice" with key album tracks and rarities. Highlights include "Butterfly Collector," Ghosts," and the lovely ballad B-side, "Liza Radley." The spunky "fan club" version of "Tales from the Riverbank" pales next to the song's official release, however.

Catch him before he turns into John Cougar Mellencamp--oops, too late ("In the City," "Down in the Tube Station at Midnight"). (Grade - ***)
