The Monks

This re-issue of the incredibly ahead-of-their-time garage rock band has all the ugly feedback, cave drums, sarcasm, banjos, Gregorian chant backing vocals, slavering horniness, absurdist nihilism and maddening, low-talent repetition that has made this one of the most legendary bands of ticked-off GIs ever to come out of Germany in the '60s. Too bad you can't see their shaved heads, black cassocks and noose neckties. Definitely do not miss "Complication" or "I Hate You." It just doesn't get much more prescient than this.
